Following the popular Midland Class 4F (372-060K) released in March 2015, we are pleased to present our next N scale limited edition model in the form of the Fairburn Tank No. 2085 in Caledonian Blue livery. This livery was carried by the preserved locomotive whilst operating on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway during the 1970s and 1980s.

Designed by and named after Charles E Fairburn, a total of 277 of these 2-6-4 tank locomotives were built between 1945 and 1951. Designed for the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS), British Railways continued construction for both the Midland and Southern regions with No. 42085 being completed at Brighton Works in 1951, intended for use on the Southern region. Following 16 years in service, 42085 was withdrawn in April 1967 whilst allocated to Normanton shed on the North Eastern region. Preserved for use on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, No.

2085 - carrying its Caledonian Blue livery- was at the head of the inaugural train on the 2nd May 1973 when the railway re-opened. Our model uses a powerful coreless motor and features scale pony & bogie wheels with NEM coupling pockets, along with a wealth of separately fitted detail parts.

The colourful livery captures all of the lining and numbering details and includes a full reproduction of the tank-side crest. Complete with instructions and detail parts.
