For sale a Bachmann Farish N Gauge 371-168 Class 37 Railfreight, ESU DCC SOUND fitted. Excellent loco, in pristine cosmetic condition. Loco is fitted with an ESU Loksound V4 micro decoder (Labelled ESU LS4N). This is programmed with a diesel soundset and all works very nicely.

There are a few small foibles that I note below - basically some fine tuning of the CV values are required to optimise and complete this config: - The coasting and acceleration time of the loco is quite large - this suits the sound well, but this can make accurate stops hard! It perhaps needs this turned down a little. The startup sequence is very nice, but you do need to wait until it's fully settled, otherwise the response to the first control will lag the sound a bit i. It takes a moment or two to set off! - The red tail lights are turned off by default, and work when F10 is used, but may want properly mapped to the direction of travel.

The soundset is not specific to a 37 - it sounds good, engine noise in particular, though the horns are more generic and these perhaps want re-blown. Running with low profile blackened wheels and 5 pole Bachmann double flywheel motor in centre card giving smooth, quiet and lively operation. No mechanical issues, all checked and lightly cleaned and lubricated. Loco is boxed, with original de tail parts and paperwork.
